Comfort and Frills was born during the lockdowns, when founder Emma rediscovered her love of sewing and creativity. What began as a personal project, repurposing fabrics from her own pre-loved wardrobe to create handmade hairbands, soon grew into a thriving independent business.
Named originally after her two children, Clemency and Jude, the business was built on a simple idea: creating unique, thoughtfully made pieces that celebrate individuality while giving materials a new lease of life.
As the business evolved, so did the designs, leading to the launch of Comfort and Frills — a slow fashion brand bringing together distinctive clothing and handmade accessories. Inspired by Emma’s love of comfort, colour and individuality, the collections combine pre-loved clothing, reclaimed textiles and deadstock fabrics with unexpected colours, clashing prints and playful textures to create something truly original.
