Clemency Jude was born during the lockdowns, when life slowed down and there was finally time to dust off the sewing machine and get creative again.

Founder Emma has always had a passion for fashion and accessories, and what began as a creative outlet soon grew into a thriving business. Using fabrics from her own pre-loved wardrobe, she started designing handmade hairbands that were both stylish and sustainable. This laid the foundation for the Clemency Jude ethos: creating unique, thoughtfully crafted pieces that celebrate individuality while embracing a more sustainable approach to fashion.

Since then, the brand has evolved with the launch of Comfort and Frills, a clothing collection that sits alongside our accessories range. Inspired by Emma’s love of comfortable yet distinctive style, Comfort and Frills brings together effortless wearability with contemporary, fashion-forward design. Each piece is carefully considered, combining beautiful fabrics, colours and textures to create clothing that feels as good as it looks.

Today, we take pride in creating high-quality accessories and slow fashion pieces, designed and handmade in the UK. Our passion for fashion, craftsmanship and creativity shines through every collection, with an emphasis on quality, individuality and timeless style.

The original business was named after Emma’s two children, Clemency and Jude, whose names remain at the heart of the brand and its story.

Based in Bedford, UK, we are a small independent business creating our collections from our home studio, where every design begins its journey from concept to finished piece.

For Emma, Clemency Jude is about more than fashion. Building the business during lockdown helped her navigate postnatal anxiety, reconnect with her creativity and regain her confidence. What started as a personal project has grown into a successful small business, rooted in resilience, creativity and a genuine love of making beautiful things.
